Our client: National Rural Women’s Coalition
National Rural Women’s Coalition is a voice for women living in rural, remote and regional Australia. NRWC provides policy advice to the Australian Government on matters relevant to the views and circumstances of rural women and also takes a leading role in ensuring that it helps as many rural, regional and remote women as possible to achieve their goals.
NRWC needed an independent evaluation of how well Muster – their flagship leadership program – is helping develop women leaders.
What we did for NRWC
Hamilton Stone evaluated the Muster program, focusing on its impacts, how well it was meeting its objectives, and how it might best be delivered in future. We used rapid appraisal techniques that were focused on a mix of impact, outcome and summative evaluation tasks, and used both quantitative and qualitative methods. Our sources included in-depth interviews of women across Australia who had led or participated in the program, and with the program’s funder; analysis of annual reports, program reports and other documentation; and data about 42 program participants and their projects. We were able to provide an impartial analysis of the program, giving voice to its participants, and provide the client with a compelling narrative about Muster, supporting its future.
